How did it all start ?
1977 - 1982 Dirk has always wanted to "do something on stage". He was very intrigued by the Muppetshow. He mobilises the entire neigbourhood to join him in his projects. He made puppets, sets and texts himself. He thought it was normal that when he played Miss Piggy, he would use the right Miss Piggy voice. A voice imitator was born.

1983-1987 Were the years at university. Dirks faculty, engineering, had a tradition of playling "Revue's": an annual show in which students played parodies on their teachers. Dirk joined the project, and year after year he played some other professor. It were these shows that made Dirk decide to become a professional comedian. |
1988-1990 After graduating one was supposed to find a job. So did Dirk, but he missed the shows form his student years. So he started up a theatre group: " Cabaretteketet". A bunch of about ten people, most of them engineers. Already in those years Dirk started to imitate the voices of famous Belgian politicians Louis Tobback and Wilfried Martens. |
