LEGO Idea Conference in Billund, Denmark
Every year all 11 LEGO Certified Professionals (LCP's) gather for the LCP Summit. This year, this summit was "attached" to the LEGO annual Idea COnference on April 13th in Billund. Dirk was givin the floor to speak to a very international audience about being an LCP, introducing all 11 of them. Kjeld Christiansen, owner of LEGO, and grandson of the founder of the company, was present, together with CEO Jørn Vig Knudstorp and most of the board. But also Bjarke Ingels, the architect that designed the Danish pavillon for the Shanghai world expo was there, and Nicholas Negroponte, professor at MIT and driving force behind "One laptop per child"
The
audience did enjoy Dirks show |
Kjeld
Christiansen: a very nice and down-to-earth person |
Nicholas
Negroponte: give kids in developing countries a laptop, and they will
develop their parents! |
Most
of the other LCP's : Robin Sather, Dan Parker, Duncan Titmarsh, Nicholas
Foo, Sean Kenney, and Tormod Askildsen, from LEGO. And Beth Weis, the
only female LCP :-) |
Dirk
tried to explain Belgium to the colleague LCP's ... |
...
but singing together with Matija (Oslo) was easier :-) |
